Skin is one of the largest organ of the human body weighing 3-4 kg and with a surface area of almost 2 m2 The skin is not just a thin waterproof covering but a complex organ consisting of a variety of specialised cells. The skin's thickness from 0.5 mm e.g. on the eyelids to 5 mm e.g. on the feet.
